Thank you for taking a look at www.smallgreendot.com. It is very exciting for us
to share our ideas (and others that we’ve picked up along the way) with you all.
Firstly we would like to introduce ourselves. The creator of most of the artwork
you will see here is from Virginia. The patterns, designs and techniques that she
works with have been developed over a number of years using different methods that
have been picked up from various locations and cultures throughout the world. Inevitably
this became a passion, and the pursuit of locally sourced, quality materials focusing
on nature while minimising each items carbon footprint has become key to both our
future goals and our success to date.
Virginia, the designer and artist, originally comes from a city in France called
Orléans, where she started creating macramé patterns from an early age (a talent
she has also passed onto both of our niece`s) and hasn’t looked back. The results
speak for themselves, wonderful crafts that showcase cultural backgrounds and a talented
lady who keeps the skills alive.
The website and gardening/ cuisine sections have been created by me, Tristen. I
felt that with Virginia`s art and a bit of healthy living ideas, we could create
something special for everyone while having fun at the same time.
Gardening has only in the last couple of years been of interest to us and having
successfully grown our first herbs and vegetables, it has been quite addictive, so
we have decided to share some of this information with you. Its nothing too detailed
but it can help getting started.
Having grown up in sunny Queensland, Australia, the satisfaction I get from working
outside really does shine through.
Many thanks again for taking a look at ww.smallgreendot.com and we hope that you
enjoy it as much as we do.
